Burgess Hill Girls

Burgess Hill Girls is a leading independent day and boarding school in Sussex for girls aged two and a half to eighteen years of age.

Whatever the stage at which your daughter joins Burgess Hill Girls you can be confident of two things: that she will be known for who she is as an individual and she will be provided with an outstanding, transformative education of the whole person.

Our school motto, ‘I am, I can, I should, I will’, conveys and underpins our whole approach, identifying and releasing the potential of your daughter as she proceeds, giving her the very best possible opportunities to become a successful women of the future.

As parents, success will be having a happy and healthy daughter who loves going to school, loves to learn, loves participating, and is able to make friends for life. For the girls, success may be doing well in lessons and tests, being part of a team, playing a musical instrument and having fun with friends. At Burgess Hill Girls we pride ourselves on unlocking the academic talent that is found within our girls and strongly believe each individual will thrive in our high-achieving environment.

Whilst Burgess Hill Girls aims to provide the very best opportunities for everyone to excel, we believe that success is more than obtaining the highest marks and grades. We recognise just as much all those fantastic qualities that are not materialistic or target driven. Success at our school is when we produce bright, confident and independent young women who have and will continue to achieve great things.

Burgess Hill Girls stands in 14 acres of beautiful grounds within a conservation area close to Burgess Hill’s town centre in the centre of Sussex. All aspects of the school are located on this one campus; Nursery, Pre-prep, Prep, Senior, Sixth Form and Boarding Houses. The school is only a five minute walk from the railway station (on the London to Brighton line) and close to excellent road networks (10 miles from Brighton and only 20 miles from Gatwick). A flexible, daily minibus service is provided for girls across Sussex and beyond.

Bursaries are subject to annual review and their continuation is dependent on a review of the family’s financial situation and the pupil achieving the school’s normal standards of behaviour and endeavour.

Most bursaries awarded are in the range 10% to 30% to girls from families whose gross income is less than £60,000 per annum with a single child at the school.

Families with a total income of less than £30,000 per annum and with no capital assets other than their home may be eligible for a significant bursary, subject to available funds.

The maximum value of the bursary can be full published fees.
