Kingsley Girls “In-Tent” on helping Charity!
Disaster relief tents and other vital supplies for two refugee or displaced families have been provided by girls at The Kingsley School in Royal Leamington Spa.
They have raised enough money to buy two boxes of aid which the charity ShelterBox delivers to people who have been forced to leave their homes and belongings to flee war zones and disaster areas around the world.
Each box contains a disaster relief tent for a family, thermal blankets and groundsheets, water storage and purification equipment, solar lamps, cooking utensils, a basic tool kit, mosquito nets and a children’s activity pack. The box itself can be used as a bath.
Kingsley girls from the Prep School to Sixth Form have raised over £1,300 by holding a non-uniform day, a playground sale and collecting loose change.
The two boxes they have paid for each has a unique number which can be tracked online.
“We can follow the journey of our boxes and see where in the world they are. This is wonderful for the girls who will get to know exactly how the money they have raised is being used to help people in need,” says Head of the Prep School Miss Anne Hornsby.
