Top sportswomen bag top GCSE grades

Young horsewomen Imogen Sandford (pictured above left, with friends) and Molly Bowen-Morris are celebrating top GCSE results to go with their top achievements in Eventing and Dressage.

Imogen, who attends St George’s School in Ascot, achieved 9 A*s and 2 As. She is a keen rider and competes at the highest standard in the UK. She has come fifth in the country for Eventing and eighth for Dressage and also qualified in Show Jumping in the Pony Club National Championships. Imogen completed her work experience with Simon Knapp, veterinary surgeon to the Queen, and is planning to run 10km to raise money for Brooke, an African charity which sends vets out from the UK to help care for donkeys used for transport and farming in Africa.

Molly attends St Helen and St Katharine School. She has won numerous para dressage competitions this year, including the RDA Nationals freestyle and the FEI Para Equestrian Grade IV Test British dressage competition. Her GCSEs are all A* grades.

Fellow St Helen and St Katharine School pupils Fiona Bunn and Hannah Brant are also celebrating. Fiona represents England in Mountain Running and has achieved ten A*s. Hannah was recently selected for the Summer Youth Sailing Squad and is currently competing for GBR in the 2015 Laser World Championships in Kingston, Canada. She has achieved nine A*s and one A in today’s GCSE results.
