Godolphin & Latymer do the GSA Netball Double

The G&L U13 and U14 netballers  have just had a fantastic weekend at Condover Hall, Shrewsbury. The GSA netball tournament is held every year and is a great residential trip for  young netball players. The girls attended the tournament on the weekend of September 26th – 27th and were lucky enough to have England Netball players Pam Cookey and Sara Bayman present to ask questions and provided feedback throughout the tournament.

The tournament is very competitive and the girls worked extremely hard across the two days. Both teams were successful in progressing through to the top end of the pools and therefore were playing the best teams there on the Sunday. The U13 and U14 girls performed well working there way through to the final. Ironically the U14s played St Pauls (we could have just stayed in London!) whilst the U13s played St Catherine’s, Guildford. The teams were at split sites so neither teacher knew the other score, until after the whistle and a quick phone call. After some outstanding netball and a nail-bitting finish G&L won both finals by 1 goal! The U13 netball team also finished the tournament undefeated! So for the first time in the school’s history Godolphin were champions at both age groups, an outstanding achievement.

And most importantly, besides all the netball and hard work, the girls had great fun. Congratulations to both squads an outstanding achievement.
