Great education threatened by teaching to pass tests

Bernice McCabe, co-director of The Prince’s Teaching Institute and headmistress of North London Collegiate School, writes in the Telegraph that she believes that what makes British education great is being threatened by the ever increasing and narrowing focus on teaching to the test and sticking steadfast to the ‘plan’. She argues that it is precisely because Britain’s education holds a higher ideal – equipping young people with self-confidence and an understanding of the world around them – that it is booming internationally.
