A superb pass rate was achieved: 79% of all A levels taken gained an A* or A grade and 96% passed with grades A*- B.

Head Mistress, Mrs Heather Hanbury, said: “We are very proud of our students’ achievements. The girls have worked extremely hard. I would like to offer them all my warmest congratulations and on their behalf thank their teachers for their contribution to making these results possible.”

There were many examples of outstanding individual performances. These include, amongst many others:

Twins Lata and Anoushka Persson, who scored 4A*s and 3A’s between them. Lata has a place to read Economics at Cambridge and Anoushka will be reading History and Spanish at Durham.

Erica Wallace and Katie Jackson, who played for England in the U19 Lacrosse Home Internationals and at the World Cup Festival this summer, achieved A*A*A* and A*A*A. Erica has a place to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge and Katie will be off to Exeter in September to study Biological Sciences.

Greta Harrison, who won an England gold medal as cox in the Junior Women’s Eight over 1500m, achieved A*A*A. Greta will be studying Classics at King’s College, London.

Cecily Bloom, who was the voice of Peppa Pig from 2006-7, achieved 3A*s and will be reading Medicine at Cardiff.

Mrs Hanbury continued: “We are thrilled that our A level students have achieved the highest percentage of A* grades in four years, despite all the curriculum changes that have taken place around the A level reforms.

We wish LEH graduates this year every success for the next stage of their education.”
