Harrogate Ladies’ College Snap Up Scottish Lacrosse Crown

The annual championship event took place at Edinburgh School Loretto and has become a well-established part of the Lacrosse calendar which attracts schools from over Scotland and England.

Harrogate Ladies’ College First Lacrosse squad played well throughout the tournament against some tough opposition including hosts Loretto School. After three impressive victories in the pool round the team were placed top of the pool and proceeded unbeaten into the semi-final.

A 4-1 win over Scottish school Glenalmond in the semi-final secured their place in the final against Fettes College. Harrogate Ladies’ College had the upper hand in the keenly contested match and won 4-2. With an impressive 37 goals scored throughout the tournament and only 7 conceded it was a triumphant end to a fantastic weekend of Lacrosse.

Fran Irvine, Lacrosse Coach at Harrogate Ladies’ College said, “Lacrosse is a fierce sport and there were some strong teams at the tournament so the girls should be immensely proud of what they’ve achieved. They have trained really hard and their commitment, grit and determination has paid off on the field.”
