Abbot’s Hill Young Artist Awards and GCSE Exhibition

Abbot’s Hill Young Artist Awards and GCSE Exhibition

22 June 2018

On Friday 15 June, Abbot’s Hill School hosted their annual Young Artist Awards and GCSE Art Exhibition.

The evening showcased the outstanding work that the Year 11 GCSE Art and Design pupils have created, as well as the Young Artist of the Year Award featuring entries from both the Prep and Senior Schools.

The exhibition featured a wide-range of artwork including drawing, painting, sculpture, fashion and digital media.

Guests and pupils were able to cast their votes for their winner of the Young Artist Awards, which was a very difficult decision as the standard was extremely high! The awards included entries from Years 3-10, following the theme of ‘Marine Life’. Pupils were tasked to create their own unique artwork under the theme, including an explanation about their work and what their inspirations were.

Guests were treated to some beautiful music from the Music Department in the Stable Block. To raise money for Dementia UK, pupils and visitors were able to have their face painted by some of the talented Senior School pupils. Year 7 also created some beautiful notebooks which were sold to raise funds for the charity, which raised a fantastic £91.

Well done to everyone who took part in both exhibitions and thank you to all the staff who helped to organise this wonderful event.
