Pipers’ Young Enterprise Company are Regional Finalists

11 June 2018

“Out Of The Woods” up-cycle fallen down trees into a range of wooden homeware items including Chalkboards, Candle Holders and Necklaces. They earned their place at the County Board Finals having come 2nd overall out of 18 teams at the Area Finals in March where they won the Award for Best Presentation, the Software Award, the Best Commercial Stand Award and the Environmental Award.

The aim of the Young Enterprise programme is to make the connection between school and the world of work, enabling young people to develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed, building on 8 key skills: Communication, Confidence, Financial Capability, Initiative, Organisation, Problem-solving, Teamwork and Resilience.

Pipers Corner were delighted to be hosting the County Board event in the Arts Centre Theatre, welcoming teams from the following schools who made presentations to a panel of judges:  Princes Risborough School, Dr Challoner’s High School, Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School, Walton High School, Pipers Corner School, Chesham Grammar School, Aylesbury Grammar School and The Hazeley School.

Each company also set up their Company Trade Stands at the event for the judges, along with others attending the evening to visit.

The talented Pipers’ entrepreneurs now move on to the East of England Regional Finals which are taking place in June. We wish them every success and look forward to following their progress.
