Prior’s Field Tennis Academy forges a future Wimbledon star?

30 July 2018

Just in time for Wimbledon, Prior’s Field Tennis Academy is celebrating the success of First Form student Sophie, who has recently been promoted to a Top 21 GB ranking by the Lawn Tennis Association for the 12 and Under category. Sophie has significantly increased her ranking from Top 52 to Top 21 in a mere 8 months through her talent, hard work and the support from the school’s Tennis Academy.

Sophie has been training as an elite athlete with the Tennis Academy since her arrival at Prior’s Field in September as a First Form student. Alongside her school curriculum work, she has been engaged in an individually tailored daily programme of tennis coaching including physio, fitness training and nutrition advice.

Tennis Academy Director, Jorge Munoz Martin, was proud to make the announcement “It’s a great achievement for both Sophie and Prior’s Field on the back of 8 months of incredibly hard work at the Tennis Academy. Sophie’s confidence has grown and she’s developing well in her tennis and her academic work.

Alongside her Top 21 GB ranking, Sophie is also rated Regional Top 6 and Top 5 in Surrey for the 12&U category.
