Across two evenings to packed audiences the School told the classic tale of Aladdin, the street rat who freed a genie from a lamp and found his wishes granted.
The main cast of Year 6 pupils, supported by a chorus and ensemble of Years 3 – 5 pupils, rose to the challenge of performing the much loved film and Broadway musical songs, including ‘A Whole New World’ and the show-stopping, fourth-wall breaking ‘Friend Like Me’.
Director and teacher, Emma Smith, said, “It has been a real pleasure working with the pupils; they have demonstrated a confidence and sensitivity to performance that is well beyond their age. They brought the house down on both nights with lengthy standing ovations. I am incredibly proud of them.”
