Charity champion overcomes brain tumour to achieve top A Level results

Elise O’Connor, who attends Woldingham School, has overcome two brain tumour operations to gain A*s in English and Religious Studies and an A in History.
She will now read Theology at Durham University.

Elise was awarded the school’s prize for Initiative in recognition of her long-standing support of The Brain Tumour Charity.  Following her two brain tumour operations, Elise has championed awareness of the Brain Tumour Charity, single-handedly spearheading a ‘Crazy Hair Day’ which has become a much-loved annual tradition in the school calendar, raising thousands of pounds for the charity.

Elise commented:
‘This charity is important to me because in April 2014 I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Charities like this are important as they help individuals who are affected by brain tumours, including their families. I believe it is important to give back and I am grateful for the support I have received from my school and my dear friends.’
