Cobham Hall Welcomes New Headmistress

Cobham Hall Welcomes New Headmistress

29 August 2018

This academic year marks the start of a new era for Cobham Hall, with the arrival of new Headmistress Maggie Roberts. Having started her career as a History teacher, Maggie Roberts has taught English and History to Sixth Form level at schools in the UK, Australia, and Germany.  Ms Roberts is fully supportive and understanding of Cobham Hall’s ethos, as her connections with Round Square are numerous. As well as teaching at one of the organisation’s founding schools, she has run two Round Square International Conferences and has led the Round Square International Service Projects in South Africa and Thailand.  She has experience as a Housemistress, and in leading the provision of superb pastoral care. In more recent years, Ms Roberts has been a part of the Leadership Team at an all-girls school.

Of joining Cobham Hall Ms Roberts said, “What struck me most about Cobham when I went on Conferences with the girls or attended meetings at the school, was that it was a special place. Small in numbers but big in every other way. I was struck by the spirit of the girls and the way in which the staff interacted with them. They were clearly a part of something special – the girls were confident and the staff were caring.  It is a close-knit community where people support and look after one another. I am privileged to lead a school like Cobham Hall.”
