Talbot Heath’s Marvellous Medical Students

16 August 2018

Congratulations to Talbot Heath school students, Ursula Gannon and Sophie Griffiths, who have both been accepted at Cardiff University to study medicine. They are two of the five students who are to study medicine, along with Carys Fernyhough and Cecelia Millar, who are both off to Sheffield, and Hannah Gregory, who has secured a place to study Veterinary Medicine at Surrey. The school is enjoying another successful year of results and the girls achieved a 100% pass rate at A-Level, with 81% securing B- A*, (including EPQ qualifications). Other successes are widespread throughout the Sixth Form as girls are pursuing a wide range of courses: from Accountancy to Criminology, as well as Politics, Nursing and Linguistics and Interior Design. England Under-18 football star, Ella Pusey, achieved her two A-Levels in PE and Chemistry, and is well on the way to securing her dream of pursuing a career as a full-time professional footballer.

Mrs Holloway congratulated the staff and pupils on another fantastic year of results, particularly acknowledging the challenges of the new specifications. The Head said, ‘I am truly delighted with the results and thrilled at the girls’ achievements. They have been a wonderful year group; hardworking, motivated and with real energy: they will certainly go far.’
