Girls at St George’s School in Ascot are celebrating today after achieving excellent A Level results with a 100% pass rate in a diverse range of subjects.  Many individual pupils gained outstanding grades as well as entrance to top universities in the UK and overseas.  87% of grades at the leading independent girls’ school were awarded A*-C, and 35% were graded A*-A, against a national backdrop of 26.4% A*-A.

Pupils have produced stunning results in a variety of academic and vocational subjects, gaining places at a range of prominent destinations from Russell Group universities such as Edinburgh, Bristol and UCL to acclaimed institutions such as the Royal Agricultural College and Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada.  Particularly impressive results were awarded in Mathematics (71% A*-A), Modern Foreign Languages (76% A*-A) and Fine Art (50% A*).

Top marks in the school go to Renata Aynetdinova, who was awarded A*, A, A, A, A along with an A* grade in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).  Renata is thrilled to be accepting a place to read Medicine at University College London.

Congratulations go to Head Girl, Lily Caines, and Deputy Head Girl, Chloe Horswell who have not only achieved academic success alongside extra-curricular triumphs, but have also provided an invaluable link between staff and pupils over the past year.  Lily and Chloe have both achieved A*, A, A grades.  Lily has been accepted into the Guildford School of Acting to study Musical Theatre, and Chloe will read Business with Marketing at Edinburgh.

Further notable performers include Drama Prefect, Charlie Coates who achieved A*, A*, A and plans to pursue a career in the Arts and Grace Dominey (A, A, A) who will read Biomedical Science at Aberdeen.

Headmistress, Liz Hewer commented: “These engaging, confident and capable girls have worked very hard over the past two years, supported by our committed staff, to produce an impressive set of A Level results. At St George’s we believe in encouraging the girls wherever their talents and interests lie, and we are very proud of these girls who have shone in subjects as diverse as Maths, Modern Languages and in the Arts as well as embracing all the opportunities a St George’s education offers.  Perhaps more importantly, they leave St George’s with the confidence and sense of self to succeed and be fulfilled in later life”.
