Congratulations to the Talbot Heath team, who were named the top team in Europe for the World Scholar’s Cup that took place in Barcelona, at the end of July. Competing in the Junior Division, the team members were Ellie Price-Lloyd, Emelia Thompson and Hannah Elms and they were one of 500 teams comprising 1500 children from 57 different countries. Hannah was placed top student from Talbot Heath and achieved an amazing 26th place out of 1500 competitors. The girls did extremely well, being placed as 5th best writing team in the whole competition and the 1st team from Europe. Their success has meant they have secured a place at the next round of the competition in Yale, in November 2018. Two main aims of the WSC is to motivate students of all backgrounds to discover new strengths and practice new skills and to inspire a global community of future scholars and leaders. Mrs Holloway said she was extremely proud of the team, adding, ‘It is an amazing achievement for the girls and a fantastic experience. We would like to wish them the best of luck for the next round in November.’
