Over 50 Artists to exhibit at St Mary’s Calne’s London Art Exhibition

2 October 2018

‘A Sense of Place’ is St Mary’s Calne’s third London Art Exhibition and it will feature the work of over 50 artists, showcasing artwork by talented students, staff and alumnae.

Each artist has created work as part of their coursework and examination specification at GCSE and A Level, especially for the Exhibition, or contributed work that is part of their ongoing professional practice. Drawing inspiration from social, political, ethical and moral narratives, the works will be in a variety of 2D, 3D and 4D media.

The exhibition is organised by Director of Art, Kimberley Pallot, who believes that bridging the gap between school and professional practice is a key experience for young people, encouraging young talent to ‘think beyond our walls’. ‘A Sense of Place’ is guest curated by Artist In Residence, Naomi Litvack, highlighting nationally recognised pieces including that of Saatchi’s 2018 LOVE ART Digital Prize Winner, Alice Wade (St Mary’s Calne 2018 Leaver) and work by alumnae, including internationally renowned portrait painter and war artist, Arabella Dorman.

EXHIBITION OPENING TIMES
‘A Sense of Place’ will be open to the public (free of charge) at Mall Galleries, London, SW1Y 5AH
from: Tuesday 6th until Saturday 10th November 2018 (10am – 5pm), and Sunday 11th November 2018 (10am to 1pm).
