It’s pick and mix on Odd Socks day as girls support Anti-Bullying Week

28 November 2018

Burgess Hill Girls Junior School pupils showed their support for Anti Bullying Week [12-16 November] by backing Odd Socks Day.

It was an opportunity for children to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique.

The Junior School is marking every day of Anti Bullying Week, with special assemblies on topics including respect, finding your moral compass, and when to intervene if you think bullying is taking place.

In the Senior School, Sixth Form girls attended workshops on empowerment and Professional and Life Skills lessons focused on moral messages around stopping bullying. Burgess Hill Girls

Head Liz Laybourn said: ‘Anti Bullying Week is a valuable opportunity to focus the girls’ thoughts on all the issues around bullying, which can encompass everything from using social media for negative purposes to a thoughtless act of unkindness during the school day. And, of course, we throw ourselves into raising money for an excellent cause.’
