Whole School Zumba for Marist Pupils

Whole School Zumba for Marist Pupils

11 February 2019

In support of Children’s Mental Health Week, Head Girls at The Marist School, Sunninghill, organised a whole school Zumba session to raise awareness for pupils’ mental and physical wellbeing.

On Friday 8th February, pupils from both the Prep and Senior phases joined together with staff to participate in a 30 minute Zumba session led by Natalie Vinson School of Dance and Drama (NVSDD) instructor, Becca.

Speaking about the initiative, Head Girls Claudia and Naoise said,

“We wanted to organise an event which would really engage with pupils whilst promoting the importance of looking after your mental health and physical wellbeing. It was fantastic to see so many girls and staff enjoying the session and taking time out of studying to keep active and bond with friends. We hope this will inspire pupils to keep up the good work.”

The whole school Zumba session was organised as part of the Head Girls’ Legacy Project, designed to make a lasting impact on the school through a life skills programme, and in conjunction with the school’s current application for a Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS).
