On Red Nose Day, Friday 15th March, Cobham Hall was tasked with raising £500 with a Bake Sale dubbed ‘The Red Nose Day £500 Challenge’. The Catering Department, especially Mrs Marilyn Pollington, pulled out all the stops to bake and decorate 500 cupcakes each embellished with a Red Nose. These were then sold at break time, lunch time and after school to staff, students and parents.
Supported by Marketing Assistant Mrs Julia Booth, who took email orders for collection, and by the Student Leadership Team who manned the stalls, the whole school were eager to see if they would reach the target. As a school with approximately 180 pupils, it seemed like quite a task! Yet, to great delight, Ms Roberts announced that over £650 had been raised.
“We were overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity, with several people buying cakes to take home to family and friends,” explained Headmistress Ms Roberts, “and I’m delighted to be able to say that Cobham Hall did it! A huge thank you to everyone for supporting the challenge. Both the outgoing and the current Student Leadership Teams were phenomenal in the way they got behind the selling of the cakes. Well done, everyone!”
