This one day event is open to all GSA schools and is run by Jane Slinn of Independent Thinkers Education.
- Discuss what makes a successful Oxbridge entrant, followed by mock tutorials – enabling pupils to experience the Oxbridge education style of learning. email@example.com
- Sessions on how to prepare for the entrance tests.
Each of the sessions are run by experienced tutors (see profiles). Students will be assigned to groups based on what subject(s) they are applying for at university and their IB/A-levels. They can cover: English, History, Classics, Philosophy/ Philosophy and Theology; Medicine (for all BMAT applicants, not just Oxbridge) Physics; Chemistry; Biology; Natural Sciences (Biological and Physical); Maths; Engineering; Psychology; Economics; PPE/ HSPS/ E & M.
The day is also appropriate for medics who may or may not be applying to Oxbridge.
INSET for staff preparing candidates for Oxbridge
- Discussing what makes a successful Oxbridge entrant, followed by a session on references
- Subject-specific sessions on stretching students beyond the curriculum e.g. Maths/Physics/Engineering, Biology/Chemistry/ Medicine, Humanities, Social Sciences, etc
The cost is £145 per student for up to 10 students and £135 per student for 10 students or more and provides free INSET for staff. The full programme is available here.
