The annual Junior Department residential has been a huge highlight of this term, with Year 5 and 6 travelling to the Isle of Wight on 15 May for three days of action and adventure at the Little Canada PGL centre.
Students approached all of the activities with gusto and were keen to take on the challenges of the sensory trail, Jacob’s ladder and the climbing wall. The giant swing was a particular favourite (with staff as well as students), with everyone working together to help hoist their friends into the air. All the groups also enjoyed taking to the seas in keel boats to learn about sailing, with some students taking the opportunity to practise their sea shanties.
The trip is always an excellent opportunity to cement friendships, encourage teamwork and take on new challenges. Our staff were very proud of how the students conducted themselves and we received many compliments from the PGL instructors about how well they approached each activity.
