Duo of perfect GCSE results at Cranford House

22 August 2019

Tessa Wright (Pangbourne, Berkshire) and Isabel Bill (Moulsford, Oxfordshire) each achieved an outstanding clean sweep of 10 GCSEs at Grade 9. In addition to these impressive academic achievements, Tessa has found time to carry out her significant responsibilities as part of our Heads of School Team and demonstrate her skills as a talented dancer. Including her many other achievements, Isabel has participated in the National Youth Choir and achieved Grade 8 (ABRSM) in both Piano and Singing.

Cranford House is extremely proud to be celebrating another set of superb GCSE results. With 63% of all grades 9-7 (A*-A) their 2019 results demonstrate the consistent academic excellence for which the school is renowned. Impressive results like these have seen the South Oxfordshire school ranked in the top ten nationally among the Sunday Times National Parent Power League Tables for four years since 2014.

As in previous years, the school’s results proved incredibly strong across all areas of the curriculum with 63% of results in 2019 at Grades 9-7 with 40% of pupils achieving Grades 9-8.

Headmaster Dr James Raymond paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of the school’s pupils and the efforts of their excellent teaching staff.

“It gives me enormous pleasure to once again be able to celebrate our Year 11 pupils’ outstanding GCSE results. It is thanks to their determination, our teachers’ dedication and our school-wide focus on academic ambition that we can approach results day with real excitement each year, knowing that our pupils will have achieved to the very best of their individual abilities. The fact that we are not academically selective is no barrier to exceptional results. Cranford House pupils emerge as well-rounded, successful young people armed with results that will take them wherever they want to go in life.”
