Fantastic GCSE results for Bruton School for Girls!

22 August 2019

Bruton School for Girls is celebrating outstanding GCSE results once again, with 60% of all grades awarded 7, 8 and 9 – an A or A*. A fantastic 22% of grades received the highest grade 9.

63% of girls achieved at least 5 GCSEs at A*-A, or 7-9, and 85% of girls gained 8 or more GCSEs at grade 4 and above. All students gained at least six GCSEs at grade 4 and above.

While proud of all the girls’ achievements, some of the most impressive results were from:

Philippa J from Buckhorn Weston with 10 x 9 and 1 x 8

Tabby S from Shepton Mallet who achieved 9 x 9 and 1 x 7

Suzie R from Northwood with 5 x 9, 4 x 8 and 1 x 7

Rosie E from Somerton with 3 x 9, 5 x 8 and 2 x 7

Headmistress, Nicky Botterill said: “I am delighted with this set of results, there are, as ever, some amazing stories of endeavour behind these numbers. While all departments have performed highly our Modern Foreign Languages Department produced 100% grade 7 (old school A) or above, which is truly outstanding!

“These results are a product of much hard work from all our dedicated staff and girls and as a truly non-selective school we are passionate about celebrating the results of all our girls, not just those who got the highest grades.

“We are excited about welcoming many of these students back into our Sixth Form, where they will enjoy a varied and rich experience.”
