St James Senior Girls’ School GCSEs – Pupils’ impressive potential unlocked

22 August 2019

St James Senior Girls’ School continues to maintain its reputation for combining pastoral care with consistently strong academic results by ensuring every girl is supported ‘to be the best she can’.

Shreena, who achieved 7 x Grade 9, 2 x Grade 8 and 1 x A explained, “I’m delighted and a bit surprised – in a good way. I’ve always thought of myself as a ‘science and maths person’ but I loved the way we were taught the GCSE English course and now I’ve chosen it for A level. The teachers have shown me I can enjoy and excel in any subject”.

Bo, who plans to study Biology, Chemistry, History and Maths at A level after achieving 7 x Grade 9, 2 x Grade 8 and 1 x A* said, “I am so, so happy with my results. I worked hard and my teachers were incredibly helpful even up to the very last minute. They went above and beyond during the whole course and even made sure they were contactable in the holidays. They are so dedicated and reassuring and my school’s focusing techniques helped me stay calm too”.

Bo’s mother, Ms O’ Donnell, added “St James Senior Girls’ helped Bo get the best out of herself. As a family, we are all delighted”.

Headmistress, Sarah Labram, commenting on the GCSE results, said: “The girls’ purposeful focus alongside our teachers’ dedication have produced these GCSE results. We are all delighted for them.”
