Sherborne Girls is delighted to announce an outstanding set of GCSE and I/GCSE results: the culmination of a very successful academic year for the school in which it also saw its best A Level and IB results since 2015.

This year 42.3% of GCSE grades were awarded top marks (8 or 9 previously A*) compared to 11.8% nationally, with 28.2% of the cohort securing seven or more GCSEs at grade 9/8 (A*). These results match the outstanding results from last year.

An impressive 21.2% of subjects were graded the highest mark of 9, compared with the national figure of 4.7%. A total 61.6% of our grades were 7 or above (previously A*/A) and 55% of the cohort achieved seven or more GCSEs at grade 7 to 9 (A to A*).

Dr Ruth Sullivan, Headmistress, said:

“I am delighted to be able to conclude my first year as Headmistress delivering such excellent news with strong results seen across all subjects and individual successes for each of our girls at all levels. These results demonstrate the drive and determination of our students and the dedication of our staff and I look forward to seeing the girls go on to achieve further successes with their A Levels in the Sixth Form.”
