Queen’s School Pupil Flying High in Gymnastics

20 January 2020

A Year 9 pupil has gained the status of Elite British Gymnast and will be competing in the Gymnastics British Championships in April.

Evelyn will compete in the junior category at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

The opportunity follows her success at the National Challenge Cup in Surrey in November where she was awarded a national British Gymnastics gold medal on asymmetric bars, placed 6th on beam and 5th on floor. She scored a personal best score all around which qualified her this prestigious competition.

Evelyn said: “Competing at the British Championships has been a goal of mine since I started gymnastics aged 5 and I am so excited! I have watched every year and will hopefully get to meet some of the senior GB gymnasts who are competing for a place at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.”

The Gymnastics British Championships takes place Friday 17 – Sunday 19 April 2020.
