Participating in the McCullagh International four day event in Northern Ireland, during February, Katherine reached the podium on two occasions, earning two further Olympic Trial places.

Finishing with a silver medal in the 1500m freestyle, Katherine smashed her personal best by over six seconds, to 17:35.84 and received her first international event medal.

This timing earned her a place for the British Olympic trials at the pool in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, during April 2020.

The following day, Katherine had another podium finish, taking third in the 800m freestyle, earning another Olympic Trials qualifying time of 9:10:02

These achievements represents Katherine’s third Olympic Trial qualifications, having previously gained a place in the 200m fly at the British Summer meet in Tollcross in Glasgow.

In addition to these results, on the first day of the competition, the young swimmer had reached the A final of the 200m butterfly race but decided to withdrew to focus on her 1500m swim.

Katherine trains with Perth City Swim Club and is on a swimming scholarship at Kilgraston School.
