Queen’s Gate’s ‘Big Five’ Dress Up Raises Funds For Local Charities

27 May 2020

Inspired by the Run For Heroes 5km Challenge, Queen’s Gate’s Senior Head Girls, Luna and Maria, organised a fundraising initiative for local charities which the whole School community could take part in: The ‘Big Five’ Dress Up Day! Pupils, staff and parents could choose from five different outfit themes and donate £5 (or more) to support five different local charities. Some creative outfits were put together from home, from stylish Audrey Hepburn get–ups and beach ensembles and to one family’s incredibly impressive effort at Star Wars!

We asked Luna to tell us a bit about the inspiration behind the ‘Big Five’ Dress Up: “We wanted to raise money for local charities which have been hit particularly hard by the virus, as well as boost enthusiasm during everyone’s Remote Learning experience…We are super proud to announce that The Big Five Initiative has raised £865.00 for Age UK Kensington & Chelsea, Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, Royal Trinity Hospice, NHS Charities Together and Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank (The Trussell Trust). We loved seeing everyone’s outfits and thank you again for all your support!”
