A Fantastic Set of LAMDA Examination Results and Classes Continue on Zoom!

11 June 2020

About a third of pupils at Manor House School, Bookham now choose to take LAMDA lessons as a co-curricular activity. They use it to improve confidence in speaking and listening, in delivering formal presentations, in creating and defending arguments in debate, in improving self-expression by expanding vocabulary and for memorising and recalling information. It can also help students in working successfully alone and in a team.

Sixty seven (67) girls received Distinctions and two girls received a very high Merit in the Spring term examinations. Everyone worked so hard on their examination pieces and should be extremely proud of themselves. What a great achievement!

Unfortunately not everyone was able to take their examination in time before the lockdown. For those girls, LAMDA will be re-scheduling their exam dates for early in the Autumn term.

In the meantime, classes are continuing by Zoom and the performances get more and more creative by the week! From a cooking show with a live chicken in it to a dancing dog interrupting a news broadcast. There is never a dull moment in our LAMDA classes and all the girls have adapted brilliantly to performing online.

If anyone is interested in taking up LAMDA tuition, please email Mrs E Hamer at email: [email protected] – LAMDA Tuition is available from Year 1 in the Prep School to Year 11 of the Senior School.
