Bruton School for Girls has been shortlisted for the Small Independent School of the Year Award 2020 as a result of the bespoke Bridging and Enrichment programme the school put in place for the Upper Sixth cohort during the Summer Term, when they should have been taking public exams. Girls received input from specialist teachers to support their chosen degree courses, as well as modules on skills for life and undergraduate study including leadership, teamwork, first aid, ICT and TEFL.

Headmistress, Nicky Botterill, said: “I am so pleased for the girls, these results are well-deserved and a fitting reflection of their resilience and hard work, particularly during this unprecedented time. The girls were supported by the excellent teachers here at Bruton, and are leaving us incredibly well-prepared for university life and beyond. We wish them every success in the future.”
