Wycombe Abbey celebrates excellent 2020 A level results

13 August 2020

During an extraordinary year, the Wycombe Abbey community today is celebrating another year of exceptional A level results success.

In results announced today (Thursday 13 August) an impressive 38% of all grades received were at the highest level, A*. This year’s UVI pupils achieved a fantastic 81% of all entries graded at A*-A.

Headmistress, Jo Duncan, said “I am absolutely delighted for the girls. This has been a challenging final year at School for them. I am very proud of the girls and our inspirational teachers and dedicated staff who have supported each pupil throughout her School life. Our unique boarding community enables the girls to live and learn together and, despite the challenges brought about by school closures this year, our School community remains strong; I know that the staff and girls will be celebrating together today. Thank you to our wonderful parents for their outstanding support, I am sure they are very proud of their daughters today.”

Leavers will go on to study subjects as diverse as Architecture, Medicine and Philosophy at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities in the UK and in the US, with the School’s largest ever cohort of US college applications. 22 Wycombe Abbey pupils will be admitted to a range of world-class US universities and colleges this year with acceptances from Columbia University, Stanford University, Dartmouth College, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.

We are particularly delighted that all 23 of our Oxbridge offer holders will be taking up their places this year.
