Queen’s Gate’s Joint Head Girl Awarded Immerse Essay Scholarship

2 October 2020

During the summer holidays, Queen’s Gate’s Joint Head Girl, Octavia, entered The Immerse Education Essay Competition. Out of thousands of entries, Octavia was awarded a scholarship for her essay entitled, ‘What can the past teach us about the coronavirus pandemic?’

Immerse Education is an award-winning provider of immersive summer academic programmes for students led by tutors from world-class universities including Cambridge, Oxford and Harvard. The competition provides the opportunity for students aged 13-18 to submit a 500-word essay in response to a pre-set question relating to their chosen subject. Prizes include full and partial scholarships to their academic summer programmes based in Oxford and Cambridge University Colleges. All of the essays were independently reviewed and graded and last year only 7% of entries received a scholarship!

This is a superb achievement and we look forward to hearing how Octavia’s chosen course goes in 2021!
