School girl siblings release monthly book subscription boxes

12 March 2021

Two Northamptonshire school girls have launched their own monthly book subscription boxes, after turning their love of reading into a new successful business. Kirsten and Aiyven, who attend Northampton High School in Hardingstone, have created the service ‘Happier Every Chapter’, to promote literacy and diversity in middle-grade literature. Described as “a monthly box of bookish bliss & treats for kids 8-14”, each box comes packed with 2 books, 2 short stories, activity sheets and a whole host of other surprises.

The journey into the world of writing started for the sisters when they entered the ‘2019 BBC 500 Words’ writing contest, and the competition sparked an idea for the literacy lovers to develop their passion of reading into writing books of their own. The writing began and a successful Kickstarter campaign followed. Kirsten and Aiyven’s appeal drew interest across the globe, and the girls successfully raised over £5,000 to fund the publication of their debut novels, ‘Sagas of Anya’ and ‘Land of the Nurogons’.

Having sold books all over the world, Kirsten and Aiyven expanded their growing business to offer the subscription service, and have recently appeared on platforms such as BBC Look East, Daily Mirror, The Week Junior Magazine and even Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch to promote this specialist service!

With plenty of options to suit all budding bookworms, including a ‘sibling plan’ for children just like Kirsten and Aiyven, the ‘Happier Every Chapter’ subscription is a perfect way for kids and teens to develop their passion for reading.
