History teacher from St Mary’s has article published in Hindsight magazine

18 April 2021

The article is entitled ‘Lyndon Johnson and the Vietnam War’, and poses the question of why Lyndon Johnson, a President whose greatest aspiration was to end the economic, educational and racial inequalities in American society, instead found himself trapped in fighting an unwinnable Cold War conflict, thousands of miles away. The article features in the April 2021 edition of the magazine.

The teacher of History & Politics and High Performance Learning Lead also recently published an article in the January 2021 edition of Hindsight magazine, which provides new perspectives and analysis of key GCSE topics. That insightful article was entitled ‘How did the First World War End?’ and analysed the reasons why Germany lost the First World War.

This will add to a catalogue of articles already published, which span topics including Nazi Germany, Communist China and protest movements in the US. Dr Flint has also published four History books – the latest title, Approaches to Learning and Teaching History, was published by Cambridge University Press.
