Prior’s Field Drama and Music Scholar offered a place in the National Youth Musical Theatre

29 April 2021

Prior’s Field is delighted to announce that Fourth Form Drama and Music Scholar Robyn Mirmak has been offered a place in the National Youth Musical Theatre 2021.

Andrew Lloyd Webber called the NYMY “the best youth Music Theatre in the world”, and its alumni include so many well-known actors including the likes of Sheridan Smith, Idris Elba, Lily James, Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne.

Robyn went through a rigorous (but very enjoyable) series of auditions, both recorded at home and in live workshops on Zoom, during which she had to dance, act and sing, along with nearly 1000 other hopeful young people. She was overjoyed just to get her first recall, but incredulous to finally be offered a place!

A modest yet delighted Robyn reflected:

“When I found out I got in it was quite surreal. There was a lot of shock before the excitement kicked in. I’d been so focused on the constant auditioning I hadn’t actually thought about what would happen if I was accepted. It’s definitely given me hope that I could seriously consider acting in the future.”

Robyn has been cast in the NYMT’s production of Billy the Kid, and will spend 3 weeks on a residential course in August which ends with the show in London (25th – 28th August venue TBC).

Registration for 2022 is now open – for more information about Prior’s Field please visit www.priorsfieldschool.com
