We are proud to share that Isabelle Z. in Year 10 has been identified as one of GDST’s top Mathematicians across the GDST Schools.
To celebrate, she was invited to an online Teams event by Imperial College London aimed at gifted and talented Maths students. It gave her a chance to meet other talented mathematicians, and they were introduced to what it would be like to study Maths at University. Before the event, the students were given a question to solve individually, then they spoke about it together at the event, sharing how they solved it. Isabelle particularly enjoyed the Maths quiz which she went on to win!
Speaking about the event, Isabelle said: “It was really good to meet mathematicians from other schools, it was nice to have a chat and before this event, I didn’t know what it would be like to study Maths, especially at Imperial. I was thankful that they shared useful links for books and research. In the future, I would love to go on to study Maths and Computer Science. I love Maths and its problem-solving aspect – I really get into problems and when I solve them it makes me really happy”.
