Lockdown has been tough on performers. Theatres all over the country have gone dark and here at CLC, annual production events have been put on hold throughout the year. It was wonderful, then, to be able to stage the Dance Showcase on Saturday 22nd May in the Princess Hall. Although parents were unable to attend due to the current restrictions, the students and staff who attended were given a real treat. Ballet, tap, contemporary, solos, duos, trios and ensemble pieces had the audience roaring in delight.
There’s nothing like that moment when the curtain goes up (or to the sides in this case), the lights come on, the music starts and the audience sits up in anticipation to spark the thrill of performing live.
A huge congratulations to all the dancers, who excelled themselves, and to their fab teachers without whom this Showcase couldn’t have happened.
