A talent hockey player at Monmouth School for Girls has made her debut for Wales.
Rosie Thomas, from Year 11, played three matches for Wales Under-16s against Ulster in Colwyn Bay.
“The hockey was amazing and it was to make my Welsh debut,” said a delighted Rosie.
Rosie, a right-back, featured against a strong Ulster squad that won two of the three matches between the teams.
Wales lost 7-1 in the opening fixture, won the second 3-2 and lost the third, 5-1.
“Ulster had a very strong side but I felt that we rose to the challenge and gained some valuable experience as a team to take into future matches,” said Rosie.
The teenager has represented the school’s 1st XI and plays her club hockey in Cardiff.
