The children in the Lower Prep year groups at Manor House School performed a Pirate themed showcase at the end of term.
The older children acted out the funny story of ‘Pirates versus Mermaids’ and the younger ones sang a Pirates song and told the story of Ten Little Pirates.
Pupils performed the story on the School’s pirate ship, located in the Summer garden and teaching staff were thrilled that the weather was dry enough to invite the parents to watch in a socially distanced way. Students wore brilliant costumes and Mrs Ferrey, Head of Key Stage 1 and Early Years said, “I am very proud of the confident way all the children took part.”
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 at the independent girls’ school, enjoy a fun and busy curriculum. From investigating and thinking mathematically about real-life problems, devising their own innovative stories and poems with a twist, to being creative and finding out about the world around them, girls are encouraged to think independently, embrace challenge from a young age, and work collaboratively. In doing so, they develop a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom and shines through in all their endeavours.
