A mouth-watering painting by an A level Art student at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools is taking pride of place on a working farm in the Wye Valley owned by a popular broadcaster.
Raine Yeung’s eye-catching burger painting has been snapped up by The Pig & Apple, near Monmouth, based at Humble by Nature, which is owned by broadcaster and writer, Kate Humble, and husband Ludo Graham.
Jake Feakins and Jess Stephens, who run The Pig & Apple at Humble by Nature, bought the painting and Raine will be donating the money to the mental health charity, Mind.
“Jess and Jake loved Raine’s wonderful painting so much that they were desperate to have it permanently on their wall,” said Head of Art at Monmouth School for Boys, Mr Matt Peake.
“Raine is a big fan of their burgers, while Jake and Jess appreciated the skill involved from Raine and felt it was perfect for their business, which specialises in a range of amazing burgers.”
The artwork will form part of the Art in Penallt 2021 festival, which takes place at Humble by Nature from August 28th to 30th.
Other work from art students at Monmouth School for Boys will also be featured.
Kate Humble and her husband Ludo set up Humble by Nature, a rural skills school, in 2011 and The Pig & Apple has been an excellent addition to the site.
