Leicester High School celebrate A Level achievements

It’s been a morning of delight for Leicester High School students, with 77% of all grades achieved by girls at Leicester High School for Girls at A* or A, an increase from 58% in 2020.

Leicester High School student, Oishee Ghosh, has secured her place to study Medicine at the University of Oxford with grades of A*A*A*A*.

A total of four girls achieved straight A* grades. Scarlett East-Burke achieved A*A*A*and will be studying Creative Writing and English Literature at UEA, Esha Visram achieved A*A*A* and will be joining UCL to study Engineering.

LHS Scholar Sarah Mohamed Ehisan, who joined the School for Sixth Form on a Scholarship funded by the Sir Thomas White Trust, also achieved A*A*A*and will be studying Medicine at UCL.

97% of the girls achieved a place at the university of their choice.

Head of Sixth Form, Kam Purewal said:

“I am thrilled for the girls who have worked so hard, during an extremely difficult 18 months. They should be very proud of what they have achieved.”

Headmaster, Alan Whelpdale added:

“These are a fantastic set of results and I am very proud of all the girls for their achievements and the staff for their commitment to their students. This has been a challenging period of time and I’m delighted for all the girls and wish them every success at their chosen universities and in their future careers.”
