Superb GCSE Results at St Mary’s School, Gerrards Cross

12 August 2021

There were joyous smiles this morning on our Year 11 St Mary’s Class of 2021, who received a superb set of GCSE results, as they came with their parents to collect their results from school.

There is so much to be celebrated today; we are especially proud of all the achievements of the girls in this pandemic year. Following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, with a rigorous internal moderation and review the grades are then approved and awarded by the examination boards

The girls worked incredibly hard and with great determination, adapting to online learning and to different modes of assessment. throughout their GCSE course and as a result they will be able to embark on their Sixth Form curriculum with great confidence.

Mrs Adams, Headmistress said: “We could not be more proud of all the work and achievements of our Year 11 student class of 2021. These are all the more impressive when we consider the challenges these girls have faced during the pandemic with periods of remote learning and isolation. They have adapted incredibly well to everything that was asked of them after the cancellation of GCSE examinations. The grades they have been awarded today are fully deserved; they will enable our students to embark on the Sixth Form curriculum of their choice and will provide a firm foundation for their future study. We cannot wait to see what they will achieve in the Sixth Form, as after this year, they are sure to be ready to overcome any challenge that may come their way.

Special thanks must go to their teachers and parents who have continued to support and encourage throughout. There is so much to celebrate for our whole school community today.”
