The 16-year-old, who made a splash with swimming achievements in South Africa from an early age, has been training eight times a week, as well as enjoying daily dance lessons and gym workouts, on top of her studies. Catherine said she was ‘thrilled’ with her results and is looking forward to beginning her A level courses at TH and achieving her goal of becoming an aerospace engineer and astronaut. Other GCSE successes at the Rothesay Road school, included Isabelle, who achieved ten Level 9 grades, and Taya, Amy, Anna, and tennis ace, Milly, who all achieved eight level 9 grades and an 8.
Mrs Holloway congratulated all of the GCSE students, stating, ‘I am delighted to inform you that our GCSE pupils have performed extremely well, achieving excellent results. The support and expertise of our staff has provided them with structure throughout the pandemic and has enabled them to fulfil and often exceed their expectations and potential. We are delighted that they have performed so well in the face of adversity and have demonstrated such a positive work ethic and commitment to their studies, whilst supporting one another: great teamwork has produced great results.’
