Kindness shines at Queen’s

Kindness shines at Queen’s

26 November 2021

Fundraising and giving back is something Queen’s girls regularly get involved in – a core part of the school ethos and values.

The kindness and willingness of our community to think of others always shines as students and staff get involved in campaigns to benefit those less fortunate than themselves and to raise money for charities to continue the vital work they do.

The last couple of weeks have been busy with a variety of events across the school.

We recently donated piles of food to Crossroads Community Hub in Newton, organised by sixth-former Jess in Year 12. The volunteers at the centre were extremely grateful for the kind donations to the food bank and wrote to thank Jess and everyone at Queen’s for their generosity.

As always the school supported Children in Need, this year with a non-uniform day, which raised ÂŁ739.40. November saw a group of teachers get behind the ‘Movember’ campaign for cancer charities with some superb moustache efforts across the month. This culminated in a vote with students donating their money to the best moustache and also showing their support by donning their own for the day!

A huge well done to Mr O’Meara, Mr Cripps, Mr Magill, Mr Godfrey, Dr Scherer and Mr Booth, for getting involved in raising awareness and money for this important cause – the girls voted Mr Booth the winner of the best moustache!
