STAHS EPQ students have achieved 15 A* and 3 A’s, to mark another successful year in the subject. Each student chose a topic of personal interest and led their own project. This year the diversity was inspiring, ranging from the Arts to Medicine.
Miss Foster, Head of EPQ spoke of the results, ‘all the students completed a very impressive piece of written work, clearly demonstrating the value and benefit of completing the Extended Project Qualification’.
Emily who achieved an A* for her research piece titled, ‘Upon consideration of the Just War theory, can the 1945 bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki be viewed as justified?’ thoroughly enjoyed the process. ‘The opportunity to research such a prominent historical debate fascinated me and provided an invaluable insight into the nature of work which I will encounter at university. As well as this, it enhanced my academic confidence, preparing me for my future studies,’ she said.
Jasleen said of the qualification, ‘undertaking this project has been invaluable to me, not least because of the crucial research and project management skills it has allowed me to develop; these will undoubtedly support my future university degree.’ She was awarded an A* for her piece titled ‘To what extent is mandatory minimum sentencing effective in England and Wales?’
