St. Francis’ College announces new partnership with leading education provider, Inspired Learning Group, to continue providing an exceptional education for students

Through this partnership, St. Francis’ will join the ILG family and benefit from significant investment that will go towards improving the college’s facilities and professional development opportunities, to further enhance its existing high standards of teaching and learning.

For almost 90 years, Saint Francis’ College has been recognised for its outstanding academic results, pastoral support and the extensive range of extracurricular activities available for students. This is exemplified by the college’s inclusion in Best Schools’ Top Independent Schools in the UK based on achievement of top grades at A’ Level.

In view of the significant challenges faced by many independent schools in wake of the global pandemic, the governors decided to seek a long term, sustainable solution to enable Saint Francis’ to continue with its development plans to enhance the education provision and facilities at the college. After careful consideration and a thorough process, ILG was chosen as the ideal partner for the College due to its shared vision, values and strong track record in providing a world-class education.

Inspired Learning Group is comprised of 18 independent schools and nurseries, supporting over 2,000 students across South-East England. With its strong team of experienced consultants and an Advisory Board, chaired by David Tidmarsh, former Headmaster of St Martin’s, Northwood, including Neil Roskilly, previous Chief Executive of the Independent Schools Association.

Inspired Learning Group will be working very closely with the current Head Mrs Bronwen Goulding and her deputy, Mr James Nichols, who will succeed Mrs Goulding on her retirement at the end of the academic year, to support them in implementing their continued vision to offer students the opportunity to discover and develop their full potential in terms of academic, sporting and creative achievements.

Bronwen Goulding, Headmistress at St Francis’ College, said:

“Visitors to St. Francis’ College are struck by its warmth and sense of community, where the staff are committed and dedicated to the well-being and intellectual development of all our students. We are proud both of our academic achievements and our extensive extra and co-curricular programmes. We are a community not just of learners but of people who care about each other which is why, with these shared values, Inspired Learning Group is the perfect partner to build further on our rich tradition of academic and extracurricular excellence.

All of our decisions have been made with the best interests of our college community in mind, and I am excited that we are about to embark on this new chapter as part of the ILG family.”

Amit Mehta, CEO of ILG, said:

“We are thrilled to be welcoming S.t Francis’ College into Inspired Learning Group and very much look forward to supporting the school in providing a stimulating education that enables young women to thrive in an ever-changing global environment.

We see all the schools within our group as one extended family, allowing us to share best practice and the latest teaching techniques in order to deliver the best possible teaching and learning for all our students. St. Francis’ College is a wonderful addition to our family of schools, and we look forward to working closely with Bronwen and her dedicated team as the school enters an incredibly exciting new chapter.”
