Record breaking GCSE results at Abbot’s Hill

26 August 2022

Congratulations to Year 11 pupils who collected their outstanding GCSE results this week.

We are extremely proud of our pupils and wish them the best of luck in their next steps of their education. Well done!

As well as individual achievements we are delighted to share that these results include the best ever 9 – 7 results in at least five years at Abbot’s Hill. Further highlights include:

  • 33 pupils achieved at least one grade 9
  • 8 pupils achieved 4 or more grade 9s
  • 89% of subjects achieved at least one grade 9

Congratulations to Lola B, Millie B and Scarlett W for achieving 10 grade 8 or 9s. Well done to Scarlett C, Rosie H, Beth H, Freya H and Daisy O who achieved 4 or more grade 9s.

“We are so proud of our pupils today. The first cohort to sit public examinations since 2019 have achieved record-breaking results. These are particularly remarkable considering the disruption they have experienced in the last few years and it is testament to their strength of character in the face of adversity that they have achieved so highly. While results matter, education is about so much more and these results are a very well-earned reward for the pupils’ hard work, determination and commitment both in the classroom and in their co-curricular life at Abbot’s Hill. It has been my privilege to navigate the past few years alongside these young people. I am delighted for them and know that they will make the most of the many opportunities that now await at their Sixth Forms and Colleges. I wish them the very best of luck.” Mrs Gorman, Head
