Prep School Harvest Festival

Prep School Harvest Festival

21 October 2022

Pupils, parents and staff filled every seat at the chapel at Castle Campus to sing, listen to readings and pray together – it was wonderful for the school community to come together again in celebration. Everyone present was treated to a beautiful rendition of “Look at the World” by the Chamber Choir, as well as an address from Graduate Assistant Chaplain, Miss Hopkins. She challenged pupils to help her make a pizza for her dinner, at the same time encouraging them to consider where their food comes from and who might be involved in producing and selling it.

It was clear that the pupils took on this important message, as well as the significance of showing gratitude not only for the food they get at harvest time, but all they have throughout the year too.

A collection – made possible by the generosity of our school community – took place at the end of the service for the Bishop of St Albans Harvest Appeal, which seeks to change lives and transform communities in Mozambique.

We are sure that our pupils will take the important messages explored in the Festival on into the half-term and beyond, as their experience at Berkhamsted Prep helps develop them into ‘Remarkable People’.
