Downe House are delighted to announce that they have appointed Hugh Grant, currently Head of Performance and Data at Tonbridge School, to be their Deputy Head Academic from September 2023. Hugh studied Biological Sciences at Oxford before completing his teaching qualification at Cambridge. He has a wide range of teaching and management experience having taught in the maintained sector and overseas in Dubai and South Korea prior to taking up his appointment at Tonbridge as Head of Biology in 2014. Hugh will bring a wealth of expertise to the Downe House Leadership Team and the School looks forward to welcoming him in September.

Hugh will be responsible for all academic aspects of the School, he will support Downe House pupils to achieve their personal ambitions through the management of key responsibilities, such as curriculum development, assessment design and development, and so much more.
